The Oxheart tomato is one of the most popular vegetables in the world. In Portugal, this tomato is called ox heart because its shape resembles that of an ox heart. It is very popular and an important ingredient in Portuguese cuisine. Almost every Portuguese village has developed its own variant, a little bigger, a little redder or more heart-shaped.

Sowing

The fruits can grow quite large, around 150 to 200 grams, so support is needed. Sow in February to early May. Place the plant in the warmest spot in your garden. From July you can harvest these red hearts.
