For 25 years I owned and managed a franchise large book store/stationary shop in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. Over the last few years something inside me slowly began to change, I had realised I was selling a lie, to be honest, I had realised it was pulp fiction I was embroiled in, professionally and emotionally I could no longer in good conscience continue this. In December 2021, I had made the huge decision to close this successful store as I no longer could stand behind my products as so many of my regular customers said to me, this is not a real bookstore, your books are pulp fiction. I didn't understand this at the time, as I sold the most popular books.
Now, years later, I understand that I was part of the propaganda machine.
Analysing what I had sold as I unpacked the shipments of new books/magazines etc. I began to get the feeling as I realised so many untruths and it dawned on me that I could no longer support this, as I was becoming sensitive to the vibrations around me… I began to wonder who was orchestrating this all!
This is capitalism at it’s finest.
In business it became increasingly difficult to be able to purchase with realistic margins, purchasing in large quantities to increase margins and thereby profit, was becoming more and more difficult. The Dutch Government stimulates only the larger companies and the smaller “One Man Business” becomes reliant on the government by being enticed into subsidies and “offers,” which are designed and created in order to make the smaller businesses dependant on the State, thereby losing your independence.
I also started to see how seriously the world has changed in the recent years by investigating this, I have become aware of how the world really runs.
That's how I ended up without work and with a new goal a year ago. I looked at many vacancies but could not find product/job that I could stand behind and I yearned to play a part in making this world a better place. I needed to create a place from where I could contribute to a more open and freer world, where beauty and fairness count for something I needed to reverse gears and work on the positive and grow from there. Mother Earth is the ideal place to grow seeds, whether it be vegetables, flowers or just pure nature.
And then the age-old conundrum: How do you make a profession of your hobby? Out of the blue, a close friend came back from a trip from Madeira and brought with her vegetable seeds from her family, she told me that her family never bought vegetables but sowed their own! Something stirred inside me and I began to do research the more I read, the stronger I felt this what I have to do, and from here, the idea for “Gaia Seeds” was born. On my last trip to Portugal, I visited a company that grows vegetables, herbs and flower seeds, bio-dynamically, meaning: with respect for nature without chemical agents or manipulation of DNA. My heart jumped during the tour, what a great company! I had met wonderful people who work there with their whole hearts and souls. The atmosphere was so relaxed and pure, the energy they emanated was palpable, they love what they do! The conversations I had with them filled me with hope and energy, they were so special. I decided instantly that this was my calling: “to help spread natural seeds “and I began right away. My methodology is different from most , my aim is to normalise natural seeds again, this creates indeptendency and freedom.
Back to basics with nature, as it is supposed to be !!
