Silene acaulis

With Silene acaulis you grow a carpet of flowers! A very strong annual with purple/pink heavenly flowers and blooms for a long time. It can withstand drought and summer heat well. Silene acaulis attracts bees, butterflies and bumblebees that in turn will pollinate your (vegetable) garden. With this ground cover or hanger you can quickly and easily create an atmospheric flower show in your pots, baskets or open ground. Silene acaulis grows between 40 and 60 centimetres high.

Sowing

Silene acaulis grows on any type of soil as long as it is loosened. Sow thinly from April to June and rake the seeds lightly and cover with 1 cm of soil. Keep the soil moist for 2 weeks. Silene acaulis blooms from June to October. Tip: sow in April and June for even longer flowering. 1 gram of seed is good for 1 square meter.
