Purple Coneflower (Echinacea Purpurea) - Seed

The purple coneflower is not only beautiful to look at but also a plant that has something to offer for everything that lives. It has medicinal properties such as supporting your immune system against fungi and bacteria.

Attracts birds (in the fall) and many types of insects to your garden. Purple coneflower is perennial and sows itself easily. It blooms in the second year and comes back every year with even greater floral splendor. The petals of the purple coneflower are edible. There is a lot to tell about this plant but sow it first, around February/March. The seeds need some cold to promote germination.

Sowing

Sow from February to May in a nutritious soil. The earlier the better.

Spread the seeds very thinly in a sunny spot and cover with a thin layer of soil or compost. If necessary, add some extra lime (crushed eggshells).

Plant the young plants a little further apart or thin them out a little.

Height: between 70 and 100 cm
