When to sow?

You can sow the Mexican sunflower without too much effort in any nutrient-rich soil and it will produce extra large flowers. This plant immediately stands out when you sow it in (large) groups. Keep in mind that they can reach four meters in height with side vines. It is also a good cut flower for summer bouquets.

Sow directly into nutrient-rich soil around mid-April. In July a spectacle of flowers until the end of September.
