Fenugreek sprouts
Fenugreek is not very well known in the Netherlands and that is actually incomprehensible. This seed, which is used a lot in the East, is incredibly healthy. Organic fenugreek seeds.
Germination instructions
- Germination time: 6 days.
- Soaking time: 10 to 12 hours.
- Yield: yield 1 tbsp of dry seed yields 1.5 teacups of sprouts.
Soaking: place 1-2 tbsp of seeds in a glass jar with a sprouting lid or a piece of cheesecloth with an elastic band. Add water, shake and let drain briefly. Fill the jar with water again and let soak for between 10 and 12 hours. This ensures faster germination. Empty the pot and place it at an angle in a colander and let it drain well. Put the lid on loosely (first 2 days), this prevents the seeds from drying out. Place the pot in a warm place but not in the sun.
Rinsing: rinse the pot with water twice a day.
Storage: 6 to 7 days in the refrigerator.
Fenugreek microgreens
Duration of germination of microgreens: 10 to 12 days.
Soak the seeds in a pot of water for 10 to 12 hours (this is not necessary but ensures faster germination).
Cover a bowl or container with unbleached cotton pads and wet them.
Lightly squeeze the excess water out of the cotton wool.
Spread the seeds with over the damp cotton wool.
Place the bowl in a light place but not in full sun.
Check every day whether the cotton wool is moist. Spray with a plant sprayer when necessary.
After 3 to 4 days you will see the sprouts emerge.
Cut off the shoots when the sprouts have formed leaves.
