Cosmos (Cosmea)

is a classic flower that makes you happy. Its white and various pink shades attract plenty of bees, butterflies and bumblebees. The fragile leaves remind you of the herb dill and are so beautiful when the sun shines through them.

Flowers

Very suitable for the border, but also in large pots on your patio. Cosmos is easy to grow so sow her and you are assured of flowers well into november. Pluck your arms full and you will be rewarded with even more flowers! Cosmos is not very demanding in terms of soil type.

Sowing

Sow directly into the ground from the beginning of May when the risk of night frost has passed. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. Take care during heavy rain or hot days to prevent the seed from washing away or drying out. If necessary, thin out to a few seedlings at a distance of approx. 30 cm. Support may be needed if she is having a very good time. The height can be from 90 cm to 150 cm.

Tip

The petals are edible.
