Sprouting guidelines

  • Sprouting time: 3 to 5 days.
  • Soaking time: 4-8 hours.
  • Yield: yield 1 tbsp of dry seed yields 1.5 teacups of sprouts.

Soaking: put 1-2 tablespoons of seed in a glass jar with a sprouting lid or a piece of cheesecloth with elastic.
Add water, shake and let drain briefly. Fill the jar with water again and let soak for between 4 and 8 hours. This is not necessary, but it does ensure faster germination.
Empty the jar and place it in a colander and let it drain well. Put the lid loosely on it (first 2 days), this prevents the seeds from drying out. Place the jar in a warm place but not in the sun.
Rinsing: rinse the jar with water twice a day.
