Mustard Greens Red Giant.

Mustard 'Red Giant' comes from Japan and has beautiful purple-red leaves with light green edges and veins. The leaves have a unique bold flavor almost reminiscent of raw garlic and a mild mustard flavor, fresh and spicy. The larger the leaves, the spicier the taste. The leaves are fantastic in a salad, soups or sauces or with your pickling vegetables. Or replace the spinach in your quiche for the mustard leaves.

Hard

Red Giant Mustard is easy to grow. In the garden it looks beautiful in combination with flowers, herbs and other vegetables. It tolerates the cold well in winter and gives a beautiful red color from autumn to spring. As a final bonus, if allowed to bloom, it produces incredibly long yellow flowers.

Sow

You can sow mustard greens directly from early spring to early fall. Sow in a shallow furrow 1/2 inch deep, every 6 inches with 12 inches between rows. If you sow the seeds closer together, you can eat the cuttings as baby greens. The spot may be sunny, but the plant also tolerates a little shade.
